The company Prematécnica, our distributor in Spain, has published a technical article about our gasQS technology.
As the gas industry transitions toward renewable gases - hydrogen, biogas, and biomethane - the need for fast, accurate, and cost-effective gas quality measurement is growing rapidly.
This article, published in Industria Química (May 2023) and distributed through Mems AG's Spanish distributor Prematécnica S.A., presents three practical applications of gasQS™ technology: hydrogen blending monitoring in natural gas networks, validated against independent research institutes including GTI Chicago and a leading German fuel cell/P2G research institute; Wobbe index regulation for liquid propane gas with air/nitrogen; and combined static + flonic measurement configurations for varying levels of precision. The results confirm gasQS™ technology as a high-accuracy, low-maintenance alternative to gas chromatographs across a range of renewable gas applications.
English article abstract:
The transition to renewable gases such as hydrogen, biogas and biomethane demands compact, accurate, and cost-effective gas quality measurement across production, blending, and distribution. This article presents Mems AG's correlative gasQS™ measurement technology and validates its performance in three industrial applications: hydrogen admixture monitoring in natural gas (validated by GTI Chicago and an independent German P2G research institute, with errors below ±1% absolute up to 30 mol% H₂); Wobbe index regulation for liquid propane gas mixed with air/nitrogen (errors within ±2% Ws across standard quality classes); and a combined gasQS™ static + flonic configuration for fine H₂ admixture monitoring with simultaneous calorific value determination. Results confirm that gasQS™ technology provides high-precision gas quality analysis at significantly lower CAPEX and OPEX than traditional gas chromatography, with no recalibration required and response times suitable for real-time process control.
